IVF Treatment Step Three: Ovarian Stimulation And Monitoring

Jika blood work dan ultrasound normal, langkah seterusnya adalah ovarian stimulation. Kalau tak silap saya nak menggalakkan pertumbuhan dan perkembangan follicles.


Caranya tak lain tak bukan, melalui injection lagi lah. Kali ni masanya malam pulak. Masa ikut suka tapi mesti masa yang sama setiap malam.

Bila pergi appoinment on day 2 hari tu, embriologist dah bagi 6 injectable pen. Yup, pen. Sebab jarum suntikan tu bentuk pen. Cantik je. Canggih. He5.


As you can see... Ada 6 semuanya. Yang dalam kotak tu jarum dia. Separate, bila nak pakai baru pasang. Dalam pen tu dah siap-siap ada cecair hormon FSH atau Gonal-F.

Gonal-F are fertility drugs which mimic the hormone FSH in your body. They are created in a lab using recombinant DNA technology. As you may recall, FSH is the hormone which tells the oocytes in your ovaries to grow and mature. These drugs are taken via injection, which you do yourself, and may be used during IVF or IUI treatment, or with timed sexual intercourse at home.

Embriologist juga ada bagi sehelai kertas panduan hari tu. Jadual dosage macamana nak pakai pen ni. Dan juga dia siap-siap tanda kat pen tu dengan no 1 hingga 6. Maknanya kena pakai ikut turutannya.




Dalam pen tu ada 375 iu cecair, tapi sehari saya cuma perlu 225 iu saja. Jadi on day 1 injection (that means day 4 in the cycle) saya perlu amik 225 iu saja dari pen pertama, ada baki lagi 150 iu.

Yang tu pakai esok malam pulak, plus kena tambah 75 iu dari pen ke-2. Dan macam tu la seterusnya sampai habis licin semua. The dosage is also adjustable. Boleh putar-putar ke angka ikut dos yang kita perlu.

It will take about 10 days. Ouch! Hampir 3 jarum sehari. Ouch ouch!

So, berusaha!!

Day 9 nanti kena pi appoinmet lagi. Nak scan saiz follicle tu.

Ok lah, here's the definition.


Follicles: In the female reproductive system, a follicle is a fluid-filled sac that contains an immature egg, or oocyte. Follicles are found in the ovaries. During ovulation, a mature egg is released from the follicle. While several follicles begin to develop each cycle, normally only one will ovulate an egg. The follicles that do not release a mature egg disintegrate. The follicle that releases an egg turns into a corpus luteum.


Oocyte: An oocyte is an immature egg, or immature ovum. Oocytes develop to maturity from within a follicle. These follicles are found along the outside layer of the ovaries. During each reproductive cycle, several follicles begin to develop. Normally, only one oocyte each cycle will become a mature egg and be ovulated from its follicle. This process is known as ovulation.

    how much was the testicular biopsy ye? excluding the ivf.. only the testicular biopsy... thx dear....

  3. hi dear.. planning nk wat next week, i have plans on ivf and such but still, testicular biopsy is the most crucial part, penentu whether we even have the option on doing ivf or not.. so thats why we thought nk wat test biopsy dlu then later insyaAllah ade rezeki(sperm..hehehe) bru nk proceed ivf hujg thun ni.. sblm ni ktrg plan nk wat skli, tp i dh x sgup nk tggu u! huhu.. seriously penantian 1 penyeksaan...hehehe..
